In an editorial published Saturday, Financial News, under the People's Bank of China (PBOC), dismissed fears of the reoccurring of a mid-year liquidity crunch in the wake of increases to deposit rates at a few banks.

A credit crunch at Chinese banks in June 2013 caused interbank interest rates to surge by double digits and pounded the market, sparking concern among investors.
Only a few banks have increased deposit rates and they do not represent the whole picture, the newspaper said, noting that China's major lenders were stable with healthy debt structures.
Meanwhile, it's normal for commercial banks to adjust deposit rates and the yield rates of certain financial products, it added.
It also addressed fears over capital outflow due to the possible U.S. Federal Reserve rate hike this month, the central bank's macro prudential assessment (MPA) on commercial banks Mauro Icardi Copa Mundial Camiseta , and continued financial tightening and deleveraging will add pressure to market liquidity.

KATHMANDU, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- A two-day China-Nepal Friendship Painting Exhibition kicked off in Kathmandu on Thursday to strengthen the bond between the peoples of the two countries through art and culture.
The exhibition entitled "Buddhist Meditation in Paintings" organized by the China-Nepal Culture Exchange Center was inaugurated by renowned Nepali cultural expert Satya Mohan Joshi Lucas Biglia Copa Mundial Camiseta , who is also known as "litterateur of the century."
More than 40 paintings of Chinese artist Shi Tongsheng, who has been given the title of Abbot Master, has been featured in the exhibition held at the Nepal Art Council.
Li Bo, chief of the China-Nepal Culture Exchange Center, told Xinhua "We have organized this exhibition for the first time in Nepal to exchange and promote art between the two neighbors."
The exhibition also aims to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative which is expected to boost development and prosperity of many countries including Nepal.
The exhibit showcases a diverse range of paintings by the 47-year-old artist, who comes from China's Hebei Province.
The exhibition which has also displayed some Chinese ceramic products will conclude on Friday.
